Recurrent Feedback Loops in Associative Learning
In this issue of Neuron, Gao et al. (2016) report on a little-studied feedback pathway from the cerebellar nuclei back to the cerebellar cortex. They find that it contributes to associative conditioning and execution of learned movements, highlighting a role for local feedback loops in the brain.
متن کاملPower-associative, Conjugacy Closed Loops
We study conjugacy closed loops (CC-loops) and power-associative CC-loops (PACC-loops). If Q is a PACC-loop with nucleus N , then Q/N is an abelian group of exponent 12; if in addition Q is finite, then |Q| is divisible by 16 or by 27. There are eight nonassociative PACC-loops of order 16, three of which are not extra loops. There are eight nonassociative PACC-loops of order 27, four of which h...
متن کاملThe influence of feedback valence in associative learning
The neural systems engaged by intrinsic positive or negative feedback were defined in an associative learning task. Through trial and error, participants learned the arbitrary assignments of a set of stimuli to one of two response categories. Informative feedback was provided on less than 25% of the trials. During positive feedback blocks, half of the trials were eligible for informative feedba...
متن کاملKnowledge, Learning, Memory and Feedback Loops within Organizations
In this paper I propose a model to represent the organizational learning process at group level. In the first part of the work I set up an analytical framework starting from the variety of research purposes and epistemological premises peculiar of the multidiscipline context in which scholars study cognitive activities of collective agents. In this theoretical ground it is possible to deduce fr...
متن کاملMicroRNA-mediated feedback and feedforward loops are recurrent network motifs in mammals.
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are regulatory molecules that participate in diverse biological processes in animals and plants. While thousands of mammalian genes are potentially targeted by miRNAs, the functions of miRNAs in the context of gene networks are not well understood. Specifically, it is unknown whether miRNA-containing networks have recurrent circuit motifs, as has been observed in regulatory n...
